Fiona Buchanan

Fiona is fascinated by transparency, by light through glass and the beauty of water. Her paintings of the ocean are about the power and energy of nature, about the many states of water, and about the interaction of water with light. Her still life work is about light through transparent objects, about reflection and simply about the light itself. She loves diaphanous fabrics, and window light falling on familiar objects, referencing history and the moment. A breeze through an open window, early morning light and the glow of afternoon light highlighting the familiar.
