Claire Lawson

Traditional printmaking can be described as a form of alchemy - a transformative process necessitating both creative inspiration and technical discipline. Claire was initially drawn to fine art printmaking by the challenge of manipulating the multitude of variables intrinsic to the process. Her practice includes both intaglio and relief and she has completed a number of specialised courses at Australian Print Workshop in Melbourne. With an academic background in Anthropology and Sociology, Claire is particularly interested in exploring urban landscapes and how the built environment impacts upon communities and influences social interactions.
